He went to standford and won some award way back in 1996 http://www.stanford.edu/group/wim/general/hoefer_pastwinners.html(unless there's another John Mongan, but that seems unlikely)so my geuss is he graduated and the school's server doesn't keep old students' websites up, something like the University of Michigan I suppose ^__^
