this term keeps popping up and I don't have an earthly what it means. please fill me in.

Yeah, facebook is basically a way to stay in touch with people. You use your school email address to make an account. Then you post a picture and basic information in a profile(there's a set-up demanding certain types of information). Then you can search for people at your school who're on it and, "globally" for other people outside of your school. Then you have an option to "add friends" and form a little network-type thing. It's pretty neat, actually. And that is what facebook is. Now that you know, you should try it. Hint, hint!
